Borrowing rights

  • Libraries are open to all, without registration, for the consultation of books.
    Please note: for first-time access to Saint-Charles, Bernard du Bois, médecine-odontologie, pharmacy and La Pauliane libraries, visitors from outside AMU must register at the library before their first visit, to facilitate their access to the campus.
  • Home borrowing requires registration. Registration is valid for one year.
  • Borrowing is done at the reception desk or on the automatic loan machines, on presentation of your card.
  • Returns can be made to any of our libraries (except "Other libraries in the AMU network").

For AMU students and staff, simply present your university card at a library reception desk; in all other cases, please bring proof of your status if necessary; please note: payment by cheque only.

Certain online services are reserved exclusively for AMU students, teachers and staff (notably remote access to online resources).

Lending rights

The number of loans per user throughout the Aix-Marseille libraries network is unlimited, although each library may set a specific quota for certain highly requested documents.

A loan may be renewed as many times as required if the following three conditions are met:

  • The status of the document allows it;
  • The user's reader account is in order;
  • The document is not reserved by another user.
