From October 19 to November 13, the Fenouillères University Library is hosting the exhibition “Stupéfiants! A Different Perspective on ‘Drugs’.”
“Drugs” or “psychotropic substances” are a category of substances that alter the state of consciousness and are particularly prone to myths and moral panic. This exhibition invites visitors to move beyond the simplistic portrayals surrounding these substances and to discuss their therapeutic properties, the diversity of their uses, the scientific evidence regarding their relatively limited danger, and the political, media, economic, and cultural issues that shape their status in our societies, with the aim of offering a more nuanced, informed, and critical perspective.
