On Thursday March 26 at 5:30pm, Fenouillères library will host a talk by author and publisher Fabrice Lardreau, to mark the release of his book Les Fantômes de la Poltava. In it, he recounts the life of Sam Simon, a young American from Brooklyn, who enlisted in the air force at the age of eighteen during the Second World War. As a radio gunner on a bomber, he accumulated missions over Europe. On June 23, 1944, in Poltava, Ukraine, he witnessed a scene that haunted him until his death.
