Since 1983, a History research space has been located in the LSH historical library of Aix-Marseille University. Until December 2016, it was part of the CADIST national network for shared document monitoring.
This space is now located on the 3rd floor of the new BU des Fenouillères. The collections dedicated to "Histoire de la colonisation française" and "Histoire de l'Orient méditerranéen à l'époque ottomane" were awarded the CollEx label for the 2018-2022 period.
Missions
The mission of this research space is to acquire current French and foreign works and periodicals of a high standard or of research interest.
The main focus is on history, but the collection may also be of interest to other researchers in the humanities.
It brings together research-level collections on two themes:
- History of French colonization
- History of the Mediterranean East in the Ottoman period.
Collections
They include over 17,300 volumes and 191 journal titles, 30 of which are currently subscribed.
