Anna, soror... is an early work by Marguerite Yourcenar. In it, she poignantly depicts where our desires can lead us. Anna and Miguel are brother and sister. They're as alike as two peas in a pod, if it weren't for "were it not for their hands, delicate in hers, hardened in his by the handling of bridles and swords.." They love each other and defy the ban on incest.
The reading, lasting just over an hour, takes us through the torments that go from awareness to the act, the attempts to escape it and the force of desire that pushes in spite of oneself.
The reading, by Yaëlle Lucas, set to voice by Malte Schwind of Cie En devenir 2, will take place on the 2nd floor of Fenouillères library, at 5.30pm.
